In 1776, Thomas Paine publishes his Phamplet "Common Sense" showing his opinion toward American Independence. This phamplet to this day is one of the most influentual phamplets ever. It describes the American colonies freedom from Britian, and describes the uniting of average citizens and political leaders behind the idea of independence. "Common Sense" played a remarkable role in transforming a colonial sqabble into an American Revolution.
Thomas Paine was born in England in 1737 and worked as a corset maker as a teens, and later as a schoolteacher and sailor. In 1774, Paine arrived in America and soon began to support American independence. Later his 51 page phamplet sold over 500,000 copies powerfully influencing American opinions.
